Burke I know that ... Seriously though, Freo lost to Hawthorn last GF, lost to Sydney in Prelim and lost to Port to be out of this years race.
Not much for a Freo supporter to cheer for ... Go Hawks I guess :-S

Gav even the best teams of late:
Geelong had 28 years before first premiership. 44 years between 1963 and 2007. Footscray 29 years before 1st Hawthorn 36 years before 1st Melbourne been waiting 50 years since 1964 St Kilda waited 69 years to get their 1st and 48 years since. South Melbourne/Sydney went 72 years between Premierships. 20 years is bugger all then ... Next gibe?

Spewing I could only listen to it on the radio, would've been an amazing game to watch, even better to have been there. Port did extremely well in the last 15-20mins, sort of becoming their signature.

Just for Andrew, being that he asked for it and all.
 The mighty Eagles only had to wait 4 years for their first crack in 1991.....blew it.... Won the next year in 1992, then 2 years later in 94 (Giggity). Then again blew it 9 years later in 05. Won the year after that in 06 (Giggity). Have pretty much sucked for the past 8 years or so however..... Well we made the top 4 in 07, but pulled a Freo and went out in straight sets... ps: gonna be a cracker game, couldn't care less who wins, will just get drunk and enjoy! Sydney by 5 Buddy to kick 6 and win the Norm Smith

So much "financial" and "supplement help up there ^^^^
AFL did everything they could to ensure the 1st non VFL team made good. Obviously it worked ... all credit to them for that.

When you wear an anchor on your chest you just know things aren't going to go well. Another year and another what could have been. Ross Lyon knows all about that from his time with Aints...
At least your club will be able to field a team next year. The same might not be the case for the old DonTheStash crew over at Bomber land.
