I second amcom! i got the 12mbit as well and its awesome. hardly ever down time, plenty of download quota, no on peak/off peak. uploads are free and once over the download limit u just get shaped (pretty standard these days i know).

Fast speed, big downloads, low price = WIN!

Amnet/Amcom have gone downhill rapidly IMO. Service/support is fairly shite and the reliability has gone out the window.

Having said that I have nothing to compare it to because I cant be arsed changing everything over to a new ISP...perhaps compared to others they are reasonable and reliable and perhaps I notice the downtimes more because of the odd hours I keep....I guess its better to have the outages at 2am rather than 10am when sane people are working!

you sure on the upload quota? i just cut and paste this from their website

All of our broadband Internet plans have flat rate monthly fees, so you don't need to worry about paying for extra downloads once you reach your quota. If you do, your broadband speed will be slowed to 64kbps for the rest of your billing month.

It's worth noting we don't count uploads in your quota, they're free - only downloads count towards your monthly quota.

i have been with iinet for 4 years roughly. Cant complain im on the plan a notch up from you guys, 20gb/40gb i get capped most months but only in the last few days and normally off peak times.

No matter who you choose, 1 thing is for sure... Bigpond is VERY crappy.

Bigpond ftl.

I'm with iiNet, can't complain as I connect at over 10mbit all the time. $89.95 for 40/40 nearly satisfies me

Btw, iiNet do NOT count uploads in your quota, thats unlimited.

... And thank god for that. I run a web sever so I deal out some serious
data every month. If it counted towards my quota I would be stuffed.

When everyone downloaded the cruise video I put up it came from
my iiNet ADSL connection. 90Meg for "summer of WRX" and 65Meg for "York"
plus all the other crap I host for friends... Phew...

Chuck in my email and FTP server and there is some serious "upload"
happening there...

my mistake re: the uploads...

my mrs wants me to look for a cheaper plan, but we get shaped every month anyway as it is, usually the last few days... i have to d/l more during off peak... but that means staying up till 2:00am.
