i was with westnet adsl for 2 years, they have great customer service, but i churned as their shaping policy totally sucks ass apart from that they are also a great ISP. Ill be churning to Amnet as well next month so i can get a free switchover when my exchange is ready in November
for those on waix isp's you can check out my online scanner @ http://waix.net:8000 Last edited by B4GT; 04-09-2005 at 11:32 AM. |

I'm going to 2nd Westnet. I work for them and am a customer (I'm on 1.5mbit/256kbit 20gb/20gb peak/off peak).
We are incredible for customer service and service reliability. Our technical support team is top notch, open 7days from 5am-1am at night, and if we're busy you just leave a message and we call back usually within 10mins, so no waiting on hold We have multiple awards including taking out the best ISP for customer satisfaction for two consecutive surveys... Almost every ISP will have their plan details on their site, so shop around. When looking at the likes of Optus/Telstra etc make sure to check the fine print, often you will commited to a 12mth contract, whereas if you go for another you can just churn to another ISP for a nominal fee if the one you choose ends up to be not right for you. Also check the conditions, some ISP's count downloads AND uploads, some count traffic on the WAIX network as part of your quota to. If you want a really good representation of aussie ISP's visit the Whirlpool forums and have a look in the forum for the ISP your interested in. |

Another vote for Westnet.
I used to work for them (until moving back out to Kalgoorlie) and they're great. Service is great, everything is really good. I was a customer before working there and I'm still a customer now. Will be for a long time. The only drawback to me is the Telstra imposed speed limits. |

Bugger, I got confused reading posts, I thought ARACHNET was supposed to have 8mb. I knew about AMNET already as I am signed up with them. Not on an enabled exchange yet, but am hoping to be on one soon.
Amnet's service has been great - a few hiccups to start with, but 12months now of excellent service. Its not the cheapest, but you get what you pay for IMO.

im going to say iinet is much better,
simple reason.. it is much faster.. and cheaper!!! i do not rely care for customer service, i just want a fast connection, and with the amazing upload speed, i am able to use progs like emule very well to get rare files. |

with iinet to get the 8MB+ speeds you also need to join their phone company otherwise you can only get up to 1.5MB speed. With amnet everyone can get the new speeds regardless of wether you have your phone with them or not
