http://www.tpg.com.au/

An eastern states company with good prices over here. I got the 1.5MB plan, unlimited d/l, capped at 20GB. Only $49.95/month. Very worthwhile for the speed they deliver.

if shes just into checking emails and surfing the web theres nothing wrong with telstra. but if you start downloading more and all that telstra gets really shit. depends how much money the telstra package would save you though, some other isps might work out to be cheaper.

i use www.arach.net.au

Second that, their service blows any other ISP away.

I just moved from them myself this week.

Moving over to Amnet when it comes to speed you can't go past their 8/1 offering for $49 a month (10G quota).

But if she’s new to ADSL & might need some support I’d go Westnet.

What transfer rates are arachnet offering? I looked at their site and couldnt see anything offering 8mb deals, only a max of 1.5mb.

Only hassle at moment is it seems that not enough exchanges are capable of the 8mb transfers (apparently). I know I'm still on the waiting list...

arachnet are great, have been with them for years, bieng in gingin you will be lucky to even get adsl, and you got buckleys of getting on a Amnet or iiNet 8MB+ DSLAM in gingin

PS: Avoid Telstra as a ISP at all costs, they will always sting ya.

Thats very sound advice, I cringe everytime I have to call bigpond.

Yeah you need an enabled exchange for the 8/1 & it also hinges on your distance from it. A mate at work is about 2ks & syncs at 5000/700.

Heard mixed reports about their service but so far so good for me. At $49 it's cheaper than my 1.5 Westnet plan but with 10 less G's. Good news is tho their shaping doesn't work & they offer free Waix.
