Default Does anyone work at Alinta?

I'm getting gas installed at my place its a villa in a group of 3. The other 2 units both have gas already. I got a quote to connect gas from Alinta for 9m of pipework , however my closest neighbour's gas box is less than 3m away.
After numerous phone calls over the past week the morons at Alinta still havent given me an answer or shown me any plans as to why 9m of pipework is needed.
I can't use the stove to cook while all this is bullsh!t is happening.

Does anyone here work at Alinta can help me out? I am friggin furious

ps the 9m of pipework is from the mains or wherever up to the gas box, I have already got a gasfitter to plumb from gas box up to the house.

phil - don't the gas fitters have to be approved by alinta and so the fitter should be able to let you know rather than Alinta?

I know a state sales manager who deals with industrial customers, and a corporate accountant. I dont think either can help you.

Exactly! The mains do not go under everyone's house at a set distance, and you can't just go whacking joins in wherever it's cheapest cause you're gonna fatigue the pipe. Sounds like you just got the bum deal on that particular unit. However, if I'm reading this correctly, you are complaining about 9m of pipeline to get gas from the mains, when you could get gas from 3m away by stealing your neighbours gas and let them pay for it? roflcopter

gasfitters only do from gasbox up to house
Alinta does from the mains in street up to gasbox

LOL I'm not stealing gas from the nieghbour
If u picture a triplex block with a long driveway going to unit2 & 3
I am unit 2 , unit 3 already has gas therefore there is already a main gas pipe leading up to unit 3. Alinta would tee it off that one to my place my beef with them is that it is less than 9m to do that
