If your driving a 5speed probably not such a bad idea to get a few on the box

You can use the curved ones to put on your engine oil filter. But for a gear box. Little shavings that normally come off over normal use will stick to the standard magnetic plug. If a big chunk comes off a gear then a magnet probably isnt going to help much.

what matt said!! just buy like 10 and flatten them out and paste to gearbox

if you really want something like that why dont you just buy a magnetic sump plug?? will take out the small shavings! and will be cheaper

thats what i mean when if you want something magneting in your engine oil a sump plug is about $5
