Hi Guys,
Well seems official, JDM Imports has done a runner with $700 of mine which was a deposit on a set of Rays. No receipt was sent following ordering, only email records of correspondence which show the amount and the product. After listening to people saying that Charles and Steve are honest and reliable but are slow at replying, I kept trying to contact them both. After a month of ringing 3 of their mobile numbers (and leaving messages), calling their landline and sending about 30 emails to 4 of their business addresses, still no reply and according to a couple of people on the Silva and SkylineAU forums, they're in the same boat. Supposedly JDM closed for business and then reopened after "issues" overseas in Japan (prior to placing my order), now rumours of other shit. I don't know whats going on. A complaint has been filed with Fair Trading NSW and a police report with NSW cops, but cant see much happening to tell you the truth. Apparently a tribunal was held a month or two ago, and neither Steve nor Charles turned up. Their work mobiles go straight to message bank, their landline ring out, emails go through and dont get replied to and apparently their address is just a suburban house. Website is also down. My bank also says that I cant get my money back (netbank transaction). They have to put a request in to JDM's bank, and if JDM approve, then their bank will transfer the money back to me, which obviously wont happen. They still appear to be registered on the ASIC website. Any ideas? How the hell do I proceed from here? Anyone dealt with them in the past? Fucking Disgraceful.
Next Time use a credit card. So that if they dont front up with the product. The credit card company should be able to cancel the transaction and help you get the money back.

Thats crap mate! I dealt with Charles when I purchased my Rays and he was nothing but helpful and prompt.
If their business is going bust though, it can change people dramatically.

Similar happened to me with Alberts Oz Park. Gave Rob C $800 on a Wed for work commencing Fri. Rolled up on Fri morning to a closed down store. Went straight over to Alberts Vic Park for a What The Fuck???!!! and they told me he'd fucked off over east or something cause he was in deep with someone. They carried out the work with $800 knocked off the price. I know it's not going to help your situation but I do wish you all the best with getting your money back. Or at least a cheap set of Rays

Hmmm...that explains why their website went down recently...I suspect they've done a runner and I hate to say it but I think you've done your money.
My suggestion for others is to deal with a reputable company like Japan Parts (whose prices aren't that much more) or in Aust with Rampant Imports in Melbourne. |

I am suprise JDM will do such thing. Have you try contacting Consumer protection department and see if they can assist?
