Personaly, if i was on the market, depending on how much you want to spend, i'd be going for either a 720p native or if you've got the $ 1080p native display.

in the 720p range, i can heavily recommend the Sany Z5's (i've got the Z4, it's much the same projector) they're excellent for colour reproduction and contrast. and sell for around the $3k mark depending on where your buying it from.

in 1080p range the Espon TW1000 or the Mitsubishi HC5000, but both of these are in the over $5k RRP price bracket...

I can supply any of the above models at pretty compeditive pricing too btw :P

Cheers,

hey SiriX, do you supply only LCD's or DLP's as well?? if DLP what sort of price can you supply the Mitsu HC1100/HC3100 and Optoma HD72 for??? I really want to check out the HC1100 as its sposed to be an awesome little projector and for the price (~$1600) is good value

Lens Shift is definitely an advantage of LCD's if you have limited mounting options, but I reckon DLP kills LCD in every other instance (assuming of course RBE doesnt affect you). Colour repro and contrast are the biggies, plus the fact the optical block doesnt start degrading after 1500-2500 hours..

I dont think he'll find a 1080p PJ in the $2-3k range but most are 720P nowadays though haha but ya can pick up a Z5 for $2300, but I'd be looking at the Mitsu's or Optomas.. or even the BenQ 8720 which used to rrp at $10k but is now around $3200-3300 around the place.

check out www.dtvforum.info - theres a wealth of info on there plus the warranty/service horror stories to watch out for etc
