Default Le Tour de France

Any cycling fans??

Just sat down to watch the prologue tonight. Should be a good race this year. Pretty open field so no real favourites. The aussies should have a good showing from Cadel Evans and Robbie McEwan as always. My moneys on Vinokourov for overall win though.

Coverage generally picks up about half way through. Starts about 10ish most nights. But i got a satellite, so i watch SBS South East and watch from about 6

I am a fan and the tour usually motivates me to get out on my bike for a while. I dont care if they are on EPO or not. Their level of fitness is insane.

Some of the climbs are insane. They average 7.5kmh up some of the hills.

Yeah i usually feel the urge to get the bike out after watching. Guess i should get it out again now for the 1st time in 12months haha. It'll go back into hiberation when the tour finishes no doubt haha.

I do hope the drugs can stay away from this years tour. But drugs or not, they're all truly insane!

I think Valverde will be stronger then Vino, but Vino's team is really strong. Watching it live is great too, shows what a waste of time the 30min compilation is in trying to show a 5 hour race in about 15 minutes.

As for doping, unfortunately they do it to be competitive, not for an advantage. At the end of the day the same guys would still be winning (although there are always exceptions).

Vinokourov will come through for the win.
Realistically, because they are all on the gear it is a level playing field. It is only the team with with the best chemist that will get their cyclist to keep the yellow winners jersey.
Just the sheer spectacle of it is fantastic. They would have to be amongst the fittest guys on the planet. Riding 3500km in three weeks, with only two rest days, pushing yourself to the edge everyday by being on the bike for 6 hours you have to admire.
