I spoke to my cousin about these, they will be $30K fully loaded in the U.S

I have driven a 335 and it was quick, the kind of pin you to your seat till 100mph quick.

I would love to see the 135, I am unsure of the weight differences but any weight reduction would result in a fast car.

I want one!

US$30K = AUS$35K so is a lot cheaper than our $80K plus on roads here with the exhange rate the way it is now. Do you think we get screwed because we are right hand drive and it costs more or just that the government screws us all with high import duty?

I think all these asshole fees which the government puts on cars has a big part to do with it, as well as transport would be reasonably hight but not high enough to constitute putting an extra $50+k on the vehicle.

I am unsure mate, I asked my cousin the same thing, which he had asked the previous president of BMW Australia who happens to be a family friend, he came up with some reasoning behind it, which I can't remember now.

I just know we get fucked up the ass. His 550 with SMG and all the fruit is $60K on road over there, the same car, without half the options or the SMG came in at $297K plus ORC here.

IMHO BMW were silly to bring this engine out. They had to detune it to keep it slower than than the then current M3 and so it does not snap at the heals of the upcoming V8 M3. Not too bigger deal though as I read a report from the UK where one of the tuning companies has already got another 80kw's out of it with a simple retune. This is the first mob to come out with something and no doubt there will be plenty more to follow.
