I lived in Tokyo for a few years so have got a lot of advice in you need PM me.

If you are going to Japan, best to stay in a Ryokan, or traditional japanese Inn. There are several good Ryokan sites in english (this is a good start)

http://www.ryokan.or.jp/index_en.html

And if you stay at a good ryokan it will be a japanese experience to remember as the food, the service and maybe your own private "onsen" bath are all excellent. From memory there are a few good Ryokan in the Asasuka area near the temple and a few in Ginza, which will be more expensive.

For a good day trip head down to Kamakura south of Tokyo on the coast to see some wicked old temples and Zen gardens. Is is only a short trip but there is a lot to see and the traditional shopping is really good. It used to be the old capital of the Kanto Shogunate.

Tokyo is an awesome city with great clubs and pubs, amazing restuarants and friendly helpful people. And yes there are some super-hot girls who do like a bit of gajin action, especially in Roppongi and in some of the clubs. Being gaijin some other girls won't want a bar of you, but it all works out in your favour. Just be bold and blatant!

For a real eye opener head to the Shinjuku red light district (Shinjuku-2-chome??) to see some kinky shit (if you can get in to the clubs) and to laugh at the young Yakuza "chimpiras". Always plently of colour and things to see.

Take the Hachiko exit at Shibuya crossing and head NW into Centergai street next to Starbucks. Hepas of good Izakaya and bars, and if you head up the hill towards the love hotel district you will see some crazy shit too. Stop of for the rest of the night at club Womb (the club in the movie Babel).

Also check out the "Criston Cafe" in Shibuya for a laugh with it's heaven and hell sections. Soooo much to see and do man......enjoy! (Iknow I did!)

Oh and that rollercoaster is the Fujiyama, it's hell fun and used to be one of the highest in the world. It's in FujiQ Highlands which is well worth a visit.
