sorry to bump an old thread im looking at custom plates and i have been told that some plates refering to a make of vehicle may not pass. is this true or is there a way around it as i have seen a hell of alot of plates refering to vehicles.

As of Jan 08... plates refering to make of vehicle are no longer able to be passed.

For example; WRX is not aloud... but REX is aloud.

You do see a lot of plates around that do have reference to the make of the vehicle but that would be because they were made before Jan 08. So unfortunately there is no way around it.

I'm a big fan of custom plates, have had numerous sets over the years, what plate did you have in mind? Oh and don't worry, i won't pinch your idea

My dad wanted [OLDMANWRX] but they wouldn't let him because of it saying "WRX", but then THEY actually suggested he could change the "WRX" to "REX". Same thing really, but hey go figure lol.
