Varekai Cirque du Soleil
Went and saw Varekai the Cirque du Soleil tonight.
First time seeing it, and it was seriously AWSOME! Recommend seeing this, worth every dollar. Apparently it didn't have as good acts as previous ones, but if thats the standards, pfft, I'll see every one of them. You never think the human body can bend and do the things these guys and girls can do, it's disturbing but so cool. Does anyone know if they run previous theme shows like Quidam, etc. anymore?

Great!
Varekai is the first show i'll likely to be missing... daymn! Quidam and Alegria have been here before - Quidam twice i think and Alegria once. Both shows tour for a few years around the world. Im sure Alegria will be back in a few years time. In the meantime - you could always check out JB Hi-Fi for some DVDs all their shows are on DVD. |

If you are ever in Vegas they have 6 different shows playing simaltaneously.
I was playing golf at Burswood once with a mate and this random guy asked if he could join us. Hesitantly we agreed. Anyways we get talking to him and it turns out he is a gymnast in Cirque Du Soleil. Been on the road for 5 years non stop or thereabouts. We asked him if he had a wife etc and how did she cope with him being away all the time. Turns out he is married and the wife was a contortionist in the circus aswell. My mate promptly told me to get my mind out of the gutter. That would be awesome. Brendon

Saltimbanco (~2002), Alegria (~2003) and Quidam (2005) all came to perth. Saw Alegria twice, definately the best yet! Hopefully get around to seeing Varekai soonish as well.
A wife as a contortionist Lucky, lucky man..

I was lucky enough to see Quidam from behind the scenes. A friend met the main 'clown' through their photo-lab and after a bit of chatting i was offered an entry backstage. It was amazing to see all the artists as they are getting ready, make-up, warmups - how they go on and come off the stage - and got the book signed too.. fantastic.
