Things that are missing though versus the current model is:
-Now only 2 USB ports
-No multi-card reader
-20GB less space
-Matte finish with painted logos versus current glossy finish with embossed logos.
-No PS2 backwards compatability.

Not really deal breaking losses, but I felt I wanted the original spec machine so I grabbed a starter pack on the weekend. With the games and controllers the 60GB machine costs $738 so not too far off the new RRP of the 40GB model. Stocks are limited of the old console if you want one too.

I would happily buy the old console but with the possible exception of Motorstorm I dont want the other game.

I am going to sit on my hands until GT5.

Just bought Colin Mcrae Dirt for my PS3..Is pretty damn good in my opinion, quite a variety of cars and tracks and the STI actually has a bit of a boxer rumble to it.

Will certainly tide me over till GT5 Prologue comes out later in the year.

i want that.

yeah got that and fifa 08...finally the good games start to come out!!! new need for speed comes out late nov....should be good!

Gametraders in town allow you to buy a PS3 60GB with three games of your choice, an extra controller and I think some BR movies for $1099.95 if that suits you...

Resistance fall of man actually isn't that bad of a game. Motorstorm is quite fun though
