in the market for a 50" panasonic plasma. so basically there is hd, full hd and the neo... is it worth paying double the price for the neo?

also wanting to get the panasonic 5.1 3d home theatre the one with the wireless tall boys. opinions on this unit or other options?

also anyone working in the biz so you could hook me up with the above?

3d is a gimmick dont buy it
just get a LED FULL HD - the biggest size you can afford

im not sure on the model number, if you could get me a price on a 50" panasonic hd, full hd and neo that would be great. If you could on the 5.1 sound system that would be a bonus in panasonic.

depends what you are watching i guess, plasma is good for sports and a more natural picture image. i don't care for 3d but the neo comes with that anyway i think

imo led is for sure the future but atm i will stick with plasma, price wise also into consideration. budget no more that 1500

also would you be able to tell me where they are manufactured? i heard 50" in malaysia and anything above japan.

cheers jon

Best advice I can give is AVOID plasma. The power consumption is outrageous and the screen quality isn't "better" when compared to latest generation LED screens.

in relation to power consumption, with the money you save if you buy a plasma cancels out the energy costs.

some people like the artificial brightness image of a led, and some people like a more natural image.

to me atm budget is more important, will get a better t.v when the time comes, then the plasma can live in my bedroom!

Have sold plenty of TVs over the last ~10 years.

Old plasma - yep it used heaps of power but that was 5+ years ago.
New plasma - not as much as you think but more than LCD/LED.

PICTURE QUALITY @ 1m/2m away LED>LCD>PLASMA

PICTURE QUALITY @ 3m+ where most people sit LED/PLASMA then LCD

1080p Plasma TV's have great colour and fast moving pictures like the AFL look awesome, LED is the same if not better IMO, LCD falls a bit behind unless its a top of the range LCD.

3D: Dont bother with this crap.

For $4k I would get a top brand LED TV ( Best I could get for my money ) and you would probably get 3D and Internet crap included anyway. ~ 46/50"

Panasonic Viera plasma.

Don't listen to the haters, plasma is fine.

Go to Harvey moron - look at both see which you like, don't let the salesman talk you into anything you don't like the look of, make sure you check out something fast moving - nothing worse than slow refresh on a big screen...
