Remote mount turbos - Why?
Has anyone come across these?
Somehow, I came across them tonight and did some research just out of interest. Why would you? I mean, an extra how many metres of pipe work, and at what cost? Links: - http://www.supermotors.net/vehicles/...s/sts-a1-1.php - http://www.sportscarforums.com/f13/r...rbos-9366.html Has anyone seen/heard about/ come across these before? Why would you? Pro's and cons? To me, it seems like a re-creation of the wheel which makes no logical sense.

Luca,
I remember reading about this in a Chevy mag. Me personally would love the idea.. the graphs do prove that there wont be too much lag to get airflow.. i guess at speed its sucking & pushing air at a very fast rate! Anywho, Go to the link below and click the Actual Installation Manual for a good read.. the cost is like 4k USD... Bargain!! Remote Mount Turbo - Camaro Boost: 5 psi Rear Wheel Horsepower: 414 %'d increase: 30% Rear Wheel Torque: 450 %'d increase: 35% Boost: 8 psi Rear Wheel Horsepower: 508 %'d increase: 59% Rear Wheel Torque: 548 %'d increase: 64% 1/4 mile time reduction: ~1 second

I dont like the idea of the air filter being exposed under the car like that. One puddle and you may suffer hydraulic lock.
