u can turn pop up's off in ur IE explorer Dan. Just change the pop up settings to high and if you need to get a pop up later on, hold control and click on the link, and it will pop up.

Tools > Pop-up Blocker > Pop-up Blocker Settings

Some of the newer firewalls will also block popups. Unless Im mistaken, newer version of Norton Firewall/Internet Security have this option.

Done the usual spyware/adware check? Sometimes these little buggers are installed on your computer and the popups are not from settings in your web browser.

Try any (or all) combination of the following:
Spybot Search and Destroy: http://www.safer-networking.org/en/index.html
Lavasoft Adware Free: http://www.lavasoft.de/products/ad_aware_free.php
Microsoft Defender: (note: needs genuine windows to validate download) http://www.microsoft.com/athome/secu...e/default.mspx

2nd this option. Firefox is normally pretty good at blocking popups, so i'd try these options.

Bloody oath I will. The amount of times I could have downloaded simpsons wallpaper and logged into adult friend finder is ridiculous.
