Basically, if you can join an ISP with their own ADSL2+ equipment in your exchange, it will be a lot better deal than any re-sold telstra ADSL due to profit margin difference.

So, enter your phone number into www.adsl2exchanges.com.au and see who provides in your exchange then pick the best plan from one of them that suits your budget. The website will also estimate your possible speed at your distance from the exchange.

Reliability and good support picks of the ADSL2+ providers are iiNet, Amnet, WestNet and Internode (not in any order).

Hope that helps!

I used to work for westnet, they are the best, use them for all our clients.

No other choice

Been with westnet for a bit over a year. $70 a month for 5GB peak/7GB off peak is really starting to suck balls compared to some of the other isp's. Have looked in depth at iinet but amnet seems to be cheaper again.............

Don't want to divert the thread but: All I want is connection that won't bomb out while i'm downloading movies & music. I have ADSL2+ with westnet, NetComm NB5Plus4 router and use Azureus. I figure that Westnet should be no different to any others (although maybe they have a policy on 'aquiring' torrent files?), so it's either the router getting maxed out and crashing or Azureus doing same. Anyone who may be able to help please PM with suggestions. Cheers Phil
