Default HDMI Cabling & Home Theatre Stuff

Its time to start buying this stuff for our new house. Its a dedicated theatre room.

Im going to run a projector, HD, Amp and possibly wireless speakers.

Right now, looking at what brand of HDMI cable to buy? - so i can tell the sparky to cut in the conjute in the walls. I need about 10-15m

Im planning on running the HDMI to the projector only, and then everything esle running off the amp.

I dont want to go bigger than 7.1 surround.
I dont want to go stupid, on the speakers... What are ppl running on here??
What other benifits can i get from HDMI cabling ??
Anything im missing?

There is no real point in going 7.1 as all movies are recorded in 5.1 anyhow. It just lets you have more speakers in the room but when ya think about it, it looks cool. Im still learning a bit on the HDMI with my new telly but I had all the wires put in under the carpet before it was laid. Thats just another way of doing it.

HDMI cable is expensive!

Im using the extreme mac cables, the HDMI was about 60 bucks from digilife (which is cheap!).

http://www.xtrememac.com/audio/av_cables/hdmi/

So far everything has been great.

I'm only running 5.1 at the moment. I really think the B+W 602 or 603 series speakers are the bomb for the money. As for amp just be sure to go high current not high watt rating. AV shops know the difference.

Get the shop you are buying from to throw all the cables in.

Harvey Norman priced matched a cost + 5% quote we got on a Plasma screen, and threw some Belkin Pure AV cables in for nothing to sweeten the deal

Monster cables are crap joe... read the reviews on AV forums...
