Default Bobcat

Does anyone on here have a bobcat or know someone that can do me a good job at a good price? I will be getting my shed in about 6 - 8 weeks and need some dirt taken out of the backyard and levelled. Need to be able to fit under a roller door that is 1.8m high and 2m wide

i hired one a month ago for $230 a day from hire guys...no license required, all i had to do was to show him i can drive that thing...he spent 15min with me and i learnt how to drive one otherwise it will cost you at least $700-$1000 from the quotes i got.

We use bobcats all the time and we usually get them from Civil Hirings (9409 1800). They charge $70 /hr + gst. 4hr minimum and 0.5 hr travel each way. They really make their money if they have to take stuff away from site.

Most bobcats are about 1700 wide so that wont be an issue. I would get them to check the height with the operator as most of them are around 2m. You might need to get one that usually does pools and has the roof chopped off.

They will do in 3 minutes what will take you 2 hours. They are a lot harder to drive than they look. You can learn to move stuff in a heartbeat but getting final levels for things like your shed is hard work. Good operators make it look easy.

If you need anymore information let me know cause we spend silly amounts of money on machine hire.

Corrie,

Try Kim - Phone # 0417 928 626.... We got rid of our pool a couple months back and he came in and filled it up (around 5 cubic metres). Just mention that you know me through (Shafie)

Very easy going guy to deal with, has his own dumpy/laser level too.
I'm a landscape contractor and I've used a few operaters over the years but this guy is the best operator I know. I only use him for all my jobs especially levelling before laying turf as he has a very good eye for levels and understands what you want.

If you ring him, tell him John the landscaper/lawn mowing guy recommended him.
