Default Cops on freeway

Hey All,

On the way home from work I travel north on the Mitchell Freeway. I often see a couple of cops on bikes sitting on the left side of the freeway, on the emergency lane looking down onto the Vincent on ramp. They ping people all the time, but I have no idea what for. The traffic is crawling, so what are they getting people for?? Any ideas?? Anyone else seen it happen?? Just curious..

Cheers
Zombee

Having a stretch, smoke, close call and letting the heart rate come down.

Total C.B.F. moment

I am guessing talking on your mobile and/or not wearing yout seat belt??
In saying that they could only really do one lane....maybe two???
Who knows why cops do half the shit they do.

I thought maybe not giving way as the on ramp has two lanes that merge, or maybe cars that go up the emergency lane to jump the queue??

Cheers

Iam sure they will sit there and book you for as much shit as they can...trying to get their quota up for the day. Last thing you need when your already pissed from being in traffic. Speaking of traffic how shit is perth infrastructure atm....so very annoying, not to mention public transport.

They would be looking for seatbelts, mobiles, fail to give way and anything else that they may spot. As for quota's, used to have them but we can now give out as many as we like.

also a good spot for them to catch bikes using the emergency lanes in peak hour.

That part of the freeway is a bitch, they always get people for not giving way. Thats why the traffic moves so bloody slow!

hmm yes.. they are there to catch people hitting 100 before they are meant to....
from memory, its an 80km zone just before the narrows then it hits 100kmh as it goes over past Vincent street.. and the cops are there with the hand held to catch those getting a head start.
