Default Cars and culture

Just reading a copy of Street Commodores and have come to the realisation that I am not supposed to own/drive a WRX.

It seems that my culturally appropriate vehicle of choice would be:

A VL Calais Turbo that runs 9 second quarters.

why?

It seems that all of my Macedonian bretheren in the eastern states drive these exclusively, it is like a birth right.

Now, what 'should' you be driving?

I should be driving the typical "Stirling/Balcatta" Taxi i.e. a VL Turbo, or a Gemini with a welded diff.

I've got quite an interesting story too about this whole car/culture thing.

I noticed years ago when I was in high school, that there were a few middle eastern students that attended.

Every day, I noticed they would be dropped off in Toyota Crown sedans. It was crazy how 3 different families all had the same brand car. So I did a bit of asking around, and it had something to do with the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia sharing the same name.

there was a time when just about everyone I knew drove either a VL or VP that was dumped on pursuit wheels, limo tint and a drop tank. Yep all wogs.

remember my parents getting a loan car (civic) and heading to maccas tuart hill one night, stood out like dogs balls.
