Default Audio Software

Ok guys just a quick question...

I've been looking at different recording and mixing software and I reckon from what I can tell Acid Pro and Cubase are along the lines of what I should be looking at....Just keen on recording a few acoustic tracks and playing around with them to see what I can generate.

Have any of you had any experience with either of these or recommend something with similar capabilities?

Any thoughts would be helpful!

Thanks in advance for any input

I used Cubase a fair bit and thought it was quite good but that was a years ago now (cant even remember the version number)....I'm looking at starting a basic setup (ie keyboard, mike, PC etc) but as I'm mainly into acoustic stuff I'm not sure what the best gear is these days and where to get it from for reasonable results. I'm no pro on macs so was focusing on the PC stuff so I'm at least familiar with the platform to start with...

Do you reckon cubase studio 4 would be worth a shot?

I'm very limited with mac so not sure how much use I'd be with your setup....? Thanks for the offer though.
