haha of course not, wanted to see what others thought, hearing about your experience, i guess im wrong.
You're not wrong mate, its probably best to sit back and observe rather than make judgements on something such as "Ford is better than Holden". You'll probably find there are a lot of people who have owned both (the massive rivalry and brand bias is best left to the bogans :))

I come across it a lot, and most people who say it are just jumping on the rivalry bandwagon rather than basing it on the merits of owning the actual vehicles.

Myself, plus a lot of other people I know, have had a much better experience with Holden rather than Ford.

holdens do hold their value bit better than fords too...wouldnt buy either new just because of that.
I totally agree! In my experience Holden is a lot better built car. The fords my family and myself have owned have been problems, yet the holdens have been nothing but realiable. Although I must say the Ford Cortina station wagon we owned was a genuine workhorse until I wrote it off.
I owned the infamous 89 EA S Pac.......what a total shitter that car was, one thing after another.

I actually quite like the look of the new ford but from past experience would never buy a Ford again.
x2 :)

Abosolute machines! :D

Was this one backed with a 250 X flow ?

250 X flow cortinas ftw!

I wasnt jumping on the "Ford is better than Holden" badwagon, i just gave my opinion which i am entitled to. I just said i 'think' they were better built, my exp doesnt come from owning them, its from people i know who own them, most of my mates who think fords and holdens are the only cars to go with (mostly because its what everyone else drives)

But as i said, thanks for your perspective.

That new ute looks absolutely pathetic.

Can that arse end get any bigger(taller) and bulkier and can those stupid wheels get any smaller?... VE ute tail lights anyone?..

The only thing i kinda half liked was the 'engine start' button, thats a cool touch. :)

Other than that.... FAILLLLLLL. Kinda looks like they've tried too hard with this ute and just fucked it up.

But thats just my 2c.

:)

From experience, one place where the Fords still lead the Holdens is driving ... smoothness for a lack of a better word.

Both and I a motoring journalist commented the same thing when we drove the new 6l 6 speed Auto Caprice - that the box was crap thus making it a less pleasureable experience then it should have been.

Fords 6 speed shits on Holdens, and its really a sour point to me.

VE Omegas are just like driving a VN - they still feel unrefined and rough. The V6 is getting very long in the tooth, and even the 3.6 isnt much better.

A BA FPV GT-P felt much nicer to drive then the VY Clubsport - it seems to be something that runs from about the VN/EB onwards. More often then not the Commodore is quicker (trust me my vn shits on my parents immaculate 74 000km EB) but the Falcons are always nicer to drive.

I have not yet had a chance to drive a BF II/ VE performance variant (i dont count the ss ute as one) so I cannot comment.

They are so close in most other areas these days you pick up the small things.
