PS3 Wireless problems
I’m having major problems getting a decent connection between my PS3 and wireless router (d-link). It’s in another room hence the weak signal, but is there anything I can do to get a stronger signal? I tried a booster aerial which did nothing. Are their wireless routers out there that are designed to produce a stronger signal? Or are they all pretty much the same? And there isn't a problems with the router as I have 2 laptops which perform pretty well in the same room as PS3.

Is the PS3 in a cabinate or something? Stand your PS3 on it's left side. The wi-fi antenna is located on the right side of your PS3, so standing it up this way gets the antenna higher up.

Mine is stood up like that.
Wireless on the PS3 is poo though. I had to downgrade the firmware on my Netgear router to make it all talk nicely.

Have you got a cordless phone? A lot of them run at 2.4GHz and tend to interfere with wireless signals. PS3's are known to struggle with weak signals so the fact your laptops work shouldn't rule out interference. And yeah there are routers that have better wireless coverage so this might be a last resort for you. |
