Did you read the dates on that link?
They wanted it to sail and retrace the maiden voyage on it's 90th anniversary.... 6 years ago....

Thinking logically... Why would anyone want to invest in making a ship called the Titanic? Not many holiday goers would want to travel on that one.
Also, much larger cruise liners have been made since the Titanic, so what is the point? When the late night news was on, how much had you had to drink / smoke at the time?

But today being 90 years later, people want more on a cruise ship than what the Titanic offered. Sure there will be a few people that want to do a historical trip, but when a company needs to invest nearly $1bn to make a decent cruise liner these days, thats a lot of history buffs needed to just get their investment back.
As a consumer, you could go on the replica of the Titanic and have stuff all facilities, or go on the new superliners (Queen Mary 2 for example) and have all the facilities and luxury. Also, other than some shitty old website with badly photoshopped pictures, does anyone have any hard evidence that a cruise liner is constructing this?
