Living in Hamersley
Hi Everyone - the missus and me are looking at buying a house soon, and Hamersley is one of the suburbs that we keep coming back to when seeing houses that we like.
Having not ever actually lived in Hamersley, can anyone share any experiences that they've had while living there? Any particular areas to avoid, or good areas to aim for? Just looking for a bit of real-life feedback here ("Hamersley sucks balls!" types of responses not needed, cheers). Thanks Nik |

Mate Hammersley has been under-rated/priced for way too long! The houses are well priced (for today's market) and it's a good area! You cannot go wrong buying there in my opinion!

Yeah, that’s exactly what i recon also.
I haven’t ever lived there, so i cant tell you what the neighbourhood is like, but i think the prices are very reasonable. but I’m sure you know that! I’m looking to buy later in the year - hoping the stupid prices will settle some more. I think Glendalough is also under priced. Steve. |

I heard they have used data since 1983 to show that there is no extra incidences of cancer in the residents that live near that tower, compared to the rest of Perth. |

hamersley is great if you stay west of erindale road, one of my mates used to live east & got broken into a fair bit, the house prices reflect this also

Hamersley is a decent suburb, as Jaron said, its well underpriced. Unfortunately its neighbouring suburbs include, westminster, balga, girawheen etc, so its kind of in a bad stretch, but imo, its not that bad. Had a mate who lived there for years, and i don't recall him ever having any problems.
Good points is, Balcatta industrial area is near by, as well as Warwick shops. Ocean is 10-15mins straight down Beach Rd, Malaga is 10mins the other way down Beach Rd, and the city is about 25km away. |

I grew up there - undervalued area IMO. there is various ages of properties due to various stages of land releases.
I enjoyed the area - and good bang for buck! Radio towers - not sure about cancer cancer (well I hope not! seeing as I grew up there!)....I would be more concerned about you guys walking around with a mobile phone in your pocket next to you ballsacks! cancer cancer!

So the go seems to be West of Erindale road, and far away as possible from the radio tower that shoots out death rays.
Thanks! |
