That says he had just returned from a racetrack.

So he was at a drift meet, cable tied his bumper back on (standard practice), possibly had the back seats out to fit a harness or something and was carrying spare tyres back home.

The reporting is a bit stupid in my opinion... He's a douche for the speeds, not the car.
