Default Performance Laptops

Hey guys,

Just wanted some advice on which performance laptops i should be looking at.

Got a budget of about $3000..

Looking at the dell XPS M1730 at the moment, seems good.

And before anyone says "why dont u get a desktop, its cheaper and quicker"

i need this for uni etc and i will be running different 3D CAD, vehichle analysis software etc.

oh and a bit of gaming here and there :P

Default high performance laptop

Check out computer cybershop in northbridge ive bought a few laptops off them, my latest one is the Toshiba X200-F00 which is awesome for graphics rendering and processing. Otherwise www.laptop.com.au has some awesome sony laptops.

M1330 here I use it every day for work, doing dev work. Serves me perfectly fine, I got used to the small screen but run a secound monitor anyway. Perfect size to carry around. Very light good battery life, plus speced out.

What I have is now 2000 or less I payed alot more but that is technology for you. My next laptop will be another one of these as I am very happy with it. If you want bigger as you said got the m1770 or even the new 15 inch one. So plenty of choices. The service is good with dell and with the XPS premium service its next day. All in all I think the best priced/feature packed range out there.

Cheers

Plus another cool thing with mine dont know about the 15 and 17 inch is it has both analoge and HDMI output. So get a hdmi to dvi convertor and you can plug in two external monitors. Have not tried it but it does work :P...

Cheers
