Turf Farms?
Long story short, I have spent a lot of money on my front lawn and it looks crap, so we have decided to rip it up and lay some new lawn.
Could anyone recommended a good turf farm to go to that has various types of lawn to look at/purchase? Planning on doing it myself, what is the best preparation required to establish and maintain a green and lushes lawn? Need approximately 80 square meters. Thanks for any help, Daren

Fair enough.
Jim looks after my front lawn and it is North facing so looks great most of the year. I have wintergreen? I think. very vigorous though so I wouldnt get it if you dont like mowing or Jim doesnt come every three weeks. Takes over garden beds too if you let it.

I've been looking at:
Empire Zoysia & Empress Zoysia varieties of lawn. They sound like royalty hope it doesn't have to be treated like it http://www.westlandturf.com.au/lawn_varieties.shtml

They look great but probably too temperamental for my liking - I look for the word hardy as apart from paying Jim and adding water via reticulation I do nothing to the lawn (havent fertilised for about 2 years now).
Hopefully someone on here has had some experience with these and can give you some feedback.

How much traffic does it get?
How much shade? Depends how stupid you want to be. If you want it to look like the 18th Green at augusta national go and get some 'bent' grass. Putter is a good variety. Problem is if it dries out in one area it will take forever to infill. If it gets heaps of traffic or has crap retic or you only have a rotary mower then go for kikyu. If it is in full sun and you have a reel mower go for cooch. If it gets heaps of shade then go for one of the buffalo's. The different strains of buffalo are not that different so dont get dragged into the sales pitch. Cheers Brendon

Hmmm... well my house faces south so I get the morning and some midday sun and afternoon sun.
I have a rotary mower, doesn't get hardly any traffic over the lawn. Just want it to look nice and green with no dead patches... Cheers, Daren
