Default MRF Wins Asia Pacific Rally 2005 - Race Torque

Congratulations to our very own Evolution MRF rally team for taking out the APRC for 2005. The team is based in Perth being locally known as Race Torque. They won the Championship with 2 rounds to go with the great driving of J Valimaki in the Evo VIII.

Following closely in Third is the MRF team mate Katsu Taguchi in another Evo VIII. Toshi Arai (STI) sits in 4th with the two rounds to go being Thailand and China.

Current 2005 APRC Driver Points (2 rounds to go and championship decided)
1. J Valimaki (Fin) 71
2. G Argyle (NZ) 42
3. K Taguchi (Jpn) 37
4. T Arai (Jpn) 35

These are the results from Thailand which was run last weekend and although Valimaki did not need to win the event he blitzed away over Arai:
Results - 2005 Rally of Thailand

1. Jussi Välimäki / Jarkko Kalliolepo Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 8 2.04.20
2. Toshi Arai / Tony Sircombe Subaru Impreza WRC STi 2.05.43 +1.23
3. Kan Chee Hong / Bernard Chin Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 8 2.08.28 +4.08
4. Geof Argyle / Grant Marry Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 8 2.11.39 +7.19
4. Dermott Malley / Jagdev Singh Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 8 2.12.15 +7.55
5. Brian Green / Fleur Pedersen Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 8 2.15.06 +10.46
6. Mitsuhiro Kunisawa/Visut Sukosi Subaru Impreza 2.15.49 +11.29

As far as I know the MRF team are not required to run in the final round of the APRC and have sent the cars back home to Perth.

So finally a big congratulations to Lane and the guys at Race Torque for winning the Championship in both driver and team/manufacturor.

well done, they have been in the top three for years....(don't quote me but)

for all things evo in Australia, the ones to see.

When I first took my rex there they were already telling me to get an evo, problem was that the only ones in Aust at the time were the TME's which were a bit rich. But now... well. i love my rex too much.

The team has won 2 out of 3 seasons. Pretty good if you ask me!

Nothing related to RTs work. Issues that will be sorted out after rally OZ.
