Default Commodore GTX??

Anyone heard of a Commodore GTX?
Brother just bought one and I am trying to find some info on them. As best I can tell it is a bog stock series 2 VT with a body kit, VX headlights, GTX badges and some iron on HRT transfers on the seats. I am thinking there might have been somewhere locally that was making them. I tried google but couldnt find stuff all.

I am just wondering if they were actually a holden release or if it is just a badge associated with the body kit.

I have heard of dealers adding things to vehicles back then n putting stickers on them to get rid of older models. Doesnt happen anymore cause a few dealerships got in trouble for it.
