Default Anyone's mortgage rates been reduced?

I'm with BankWest and they're not reducing their rates till the 26th. Just phoned them and mentioned other banks had already reduced their rates. They said that the other banks were advertising reduced rates, but this would only commence around the 26th as well. Has anyone's bank reduced their rates already? Might be time for refinancing!

It is just like fuel. Rates go up, and your rate goes up the next day. Rate goes down and 'oh sorry we can't reduce it that quickly it takes a few weeks'.

Government doesn't care as it makes a shite load of tax out of it too.

Yup still locked in for another year with BW however the 500 we lose for moving early probably pales in comparison had we refinanced a year ago when it started, regardless cbf with the paperwork, I really hope the govt make it easier to re-finance between mortgages.

On the plus side i understand Bw have dropped it by 30 base points not the 25 the Reserver or others have dropped it by.

you may have mis-understood me they have droppped it by 30 points but again they dont come into effect till the 26th.

I just meant whilst others are giving 20-25 BW is doing 30. not that 5 matters much.
