Going to suits is a 'down in the world' manoeuvre, when you go from the suits to your underwear / tracky daks is when your stepping up in the world! :P
Hahaha well said :) |
I spent the last couple of weeks looking high and low for a new suit. I was quite particular in the style and cut I wanted and was pretty dissappointed with the range here in Perth.
The funny thing about suits is that a really expensive suit can look like crap if its a less than perfect fit, so just because it is an expensive brand doesn't mean it won't look cheap. I got 2 suits and some shirts in Phuket last year and the quality and style is questionable. The material was great but the workmanship was sub standard. I wore one suit once then turfed them off to the Salvos. The best advice I can give is take your time to find a decent fit. |
Some very decent, and decently priced gear here:

Hahaha agreed! |
+1 trip to Phucket for a week and they will measure and make your suits while you get shit faced. Highly recommend it.
+2 Tailors are everywhere in Phucket, they jump out infront of you everywhere you go. I passed out and woke up in a suit |
Joe don't fuck around, Hugo Boss store in the city, very well made suits and reasonable for the level of suit they are. Country road store also do very good quality suits for reasonable dollar. My idea of reasonable may differ to other's but you get what you pay for and look a million dollars.

From what I have heard if you are after suits made by Gucci,D&G, Prada etc I think you should wait until you travel to New York and have a look around there. From all accounts I have heard you can buy a few suits over there and the savings covered as opposed to buying something of a similar caliber here in Australia nearly just about cover the flight. In saying that though I cannot talk from first hand experience as I have not been, but that is what I have heard from a number of people. Even if I am wrong no harm in waiting a couple of months surely:P. Also if you cannot wait try Hugo Boss store as said above or Pierucci, they do some nice suits.
