Computer Help - XP Install onto 2nd HDD - shows diff volume
I've just bout a new hard drive to replace my old C: drive, its 320GB sata.
When I look under Administrative Tool/Computer Management/Disk Management, it shows it as 298GB. However, when I boot from the XP cd to install onto this new drive, it shows up as 131GB. Am I doing something wrong?! If it makes any difference, both drives are SATA - old one is 80GB, new one 320GB. Is there any way I can install XP to the new drive while I'm in windows on the old drive? I loaded the CD, clicked Install Windows XP but I get the following error- Setup cannot continue because the version of Windows on your computer is newer than the version on the CD. Warning: If you decide to delete the newer version of Windows that is currently installed on your computer, the files and settings cannot be recovered. And it wont let me click continue. Guru's, help please! Josh
