FAR out man... thats awesome!!! Congrats!!!! keep it as long as you can i say - that thing will never drop in price!
Hahahah, I'll remind you of that a couple of years down the track.

Supermatt 08-10-2008 04:12 PM
Was told that at 150k it would be worth about 4k a year for that persons circumstances.

Yours seem pretty good too, so cant see it being anything stupid.
Quote I got for M3 Insurance was about $2K from memory. C63 AMG was about same.

depends what he does with the car ofcourse... if its trashed to shit or has 300000 on the clock it will ... im saying if its looked after and kept in mint condition its pure rarity will keep the price tag up - at least i suspect thats what will happen :)

fizzle85az 08-10-2008 04:51 PM

rarity? the r35 gtr will turn into what the r32s/r33s/r34s are today and will share the same depreciation.

Lamborghini's, Ferrari's, Porsches etc all still suffer massive depriciation despite their rarity.

Toys are there to be enjoyed and not worry about that. I'm sure this will be enjoyed immensely.

I'm guessing about $20K per annum in depreciation for first 3 years then about 10K per year thereafter. Quite certain it won't hold value, but will be happy if it did !!

jEstEr? 08-10-2008 06:57 PM

30k soon as its out of the dealership!

No chance.

The only reason the rest are common is because of the laws allowing grey imports in during the 90's and early 2000's.

They fact that the 35 will never be a full volume SEVS import unless a few things go down means there simply wont be the volume going through to make them super cheap .

Eventually they will be cheap, but not in a 32/3/4 way.

waxdass 08-10-2008 07:27 PM

mid-life crisis?
:D

TopGear 08-10-2008 07:28 PM

I rekon will depreciate bout same as an m3.

EXPLICIT 08-10-2008 07:48 PM

Remember when the 34's first came out..........worth GOLD.

Congrats on the order, quite a set of wheels, you'll enjoy it immensely.

Bahaha!

Remnant 08-10-2008 10:40 PM

My personnel opinion.. I don't believe a 'common' colour is a problem.. I mean, its not going to be a common car is it. Any regular Joe will know they'll never have one. But yeah, I don't reckon a car like that needs to stand out any more than it does with a bright flashy paint job.

That being said, I don't think black or white does the car justice, doesn't seem to present it as well.

+1 Red.

back in the 80s they said people will never get sick off "the neighbours"....

cars will depriciate, properties won't...cars are there to be enjoyed.

Congrats Matt

given that he just sold a property to buy the car, I don't think investment was his actual goal here :P

SINISTR 09-10-2008 01:08 PM

I wasn't talking about buying the car as an investment in the first place - cars depreciates and you don't buy one to make money. I meant that it should keep its value well considering its initial price tag, limited production run, and its new super car status.

I don't believe you will be able to buy this car in 15-20yrs time for a mere $10-$15K like you can the R32s.

I guess time will tell.

i just saw a gtr 35 at tko getting tint done...its there right now, was shocked

urabus 09-10-2008 03:46 PM

Premium silver is definately the way forward.

Cost is $148 800 +++ for the normal edition and the premium which gets you red piping on the seats / shadow chrome rims / r - spec tyres and bose stereo is another $4k.

I spoke to the guy at melville last week and he told me that they had to send all of the deposits that they had taken back until some more info was confirmed. I am definately not calling bullshit but I wonder why the dealers have different stories.

Congrats. Awesome car. Are you going to spec up to the V spec? Take out 100kg and put in another 100hp......Happy times.

Brendon

Remnant 09-10-2008 06:45 PM

*cough* maybe i take that back.. lol

I was tired and dillusional at the time! I mean, my first car was white and I think that was the best looking car ive had (until my car gets lowered..)
