Just purchased Nissan R35 GTR

Just parted with $10k deposit for Nissan R35 GT-R. Only 25 or so coming to WA, I got number 14. Looking at delivery late 2009, early 2010, to be confirmed.

Anyone got a time machine ?? :D

werticusness 07-10-2008 06:21 PM

good choice :).... bastard :P

American Dave 07-10-2008 06:27 PM

big congrats on taking the massive plunge for a car you wont see for over 12 months! Start saving now and try to find the time machine.

phizzle 07-10-2008 06:31 PM

I'll swap my time machine for your R35 GTR.......

Well done indeed. What color did you pick out of curiosity??

spookware 07-10-2008 06:32 PM

10K Jesus, what about $500 bucks thats all I put down for with a house.

rexhunta 07-10-2008 06:32 PM

Yeah i know of another dude down here who has put his deposit down too, ( older guy ), to add to his collection of a 32,33,34. should be good to see photos !

Haven't picked a colour yet. Not required to do so until production commences. Not black, not white, not red..... suggestions ?

trainwrex 07-10-2008 06:51 PM

Shit so will the model you get be revised?? As thats 1.5 yrs away atleast??

fizzle85az 07-10-2008 06:58 PM

very lucky! i'd go white.. also wtf late 2009/early 2010, i thought they were coming slightly sooner than that?

Kato 07-10-2008 06:59 PM

So what's the all up cost on the R35? And how bad are the monthly repayments?

Supermatt 07-10-2008 06:59 PM
Shit so will the model you get be revised?? As thats 1.5 yrs away atleast??
At this stage, delivery is "unconfirmed" and all deposits are refundable. They expect the first one to arrive in April 2009 with delivery at 1 - 2 per month. When I say late 2009, early 2010, I'm being pessimistic. Delivery schedules should be confirmed by end Oct.

Supermatt 07-10-2008 07:06 PM
So what's the all up cost on the R35? And how bad are the monthly repayments?
$178K drive away no more to pay..... Will be funded via sale of one of our investment properties.

Makoto 07-10-2008 07:08 PM

congratz on the purchase.............................
wonder how much the insurance will cost...

Huy 07-10-2008 07:12 PM

Ouch! But congrats, nonetheless. I'm well jealous.

I'd rather put $178k on my mortgage, but once that's done, R35 is next! :p

I think this is a great colour (it's different). I'd probably go for the dark grey or black, though.
sorry sti32 gtr's are only for 'short' people :P
What are you playing at :D

teejay 07-10-2008 08:15 PM

lol im 2m tall and fit in them fine :)

Go red, they look porn, having seen Silver, White and Black in person, then the quasi red one.. red ftw.

PS did Nissan tell you delivery would be late 09?

If so this has massive implications for SEVS... and also I was under the belief no deposits were to be taken before the Melbourne motor show?

I was thinking the dog dick red...still not sure. They are indeed taking deposits and issuing a legal contract to purchase a motor vehicle. Dealer told me they will be all gone by Friday at current rate. Nissan in Wangara and Melville are the only dealerships in WA selling it. Apparently it is costing each of them ~$150K to set up just to be able to service them.

They should start arriving in WA in April at the rate of 1 - 2 per month. Firm delivery dates are to be confirmed with all deposits refundable at thi stage.

teejay 07-10-2008 08:46 PM

Thanks for that.

Part of getting full volume for the cars means that each dealer will have to invest substantially to meet the legal requirements.. 150k doesnt surprise me.

Just be interesting to see when they actually land some.

Kato 07-10-2008 08:50 PM

Did they mention anything about servicing being included in the purchase price like the jap-spec ones?

JDM_STYLE 07-10-2008 09:04 PM

Congrats mate, awesome car!

If you didnt want to wait IMG already has them :D

Cooper89 07-10-2008 09:06 PM

Congratulations! An R35 in Bunbury? Holy crap! How much will you charge for a seat in it? =D :P

Colours? Why not a midnight blue or purple colour? White or silver could get boring quick..

Supermatt 07-10-2008 09:23 PM
Did they mention anything about servicing being included in the purchase price like the jap-spec ones?
Service Intervals are 1000km, 12 months, 24 months and 36 months and are completed free of charge.

You can also get it "configured" for race set up free of charge twice per year for track days.

Kato 07-10-2008 09:36 PM

That's awesome. I was wondering if Nissan would charge extra for these as the first service is meant to be pretty expensive.

Not available in purple.

BOMB3R 07-10-2008 10:27 PM

Congrats dude! As for colour black will always be up there but go with what you want. A nice respray of a hot green with green rims and an interior to match would look hot :)

Adr3naL1N 07-10-2008 10:38 PM

its a fkn long wait!!! but still i hate you.

werticusness 07-10-2008 10:39 PM

does your contract have one of those really nice 'if the prices changes upwards you still have to pay whatever that might be' clauses? :P

LIBRT! 08-10-2008 09:15 AM

Congrats mate, very jealous!!! :D
Another investment property's worth?? :D
36 years old. Never had an accident. Never been fined for traffic offence ever....... It will be kept in locked garage etc etc.

It will certainly be interesting to see what the insurance is.... Any guesses ?

teejay 08-10-2008 03:37 PM

Was told that at 150k it would be worth about 4k a year for that persons circumstances.

Yours seem pretty good too, so cant see it being anything stupid.
