Default Foxtel Deals

Lookin at getting Foxtel ..

Anyone know of any good deals going around? Or anyone work there that can offer good deals? Have been doing some reading around and it looks like they are pretty desperate to get/retain customers at the moment.

Was a 'story' some dude called up to cancel his service, and they gave him an IQ2 unit and all channels to stop him leaving. I've had IQ once before and the new IQ box looks to have a bigger HDD (160Gb) and HDMI.

New IQ box is very nice, but a bit pointless unless you have a high def TV and the HIGH Def channels. They always have hooks out there to get you signed up just keep an eye on there website, have never seen the "killer" deal however.

Yeh i recently cancelled foxtel, they offered 3 months platinum free. Also when i signed up had some issues with the installers not showing so called up to cancel, and again they gave 3 months free.

People on phone are great, but most the contractors are complete jokes.

the deal they had up until christmas was there best ever so far. 12 month contract, 1 month free all channels, free iq2 etc.
But because free to air is releasing like 17 new channels soon I can see some even better foxtel deals in 2009. Maybe its best to hang it out til then?

I cancelled my foxtel.
Constant repeats, ie i've seen the same episode of overhaulin 2 nights in a row, and you can normally watch a show in the morning and the same one will be on in the evening.

and the constant ads and shit for your mobile phone every 5 minutes pisses me off no end.
way worse than free to air, and you're paying for it.

Unless there is something specific you want foxtel for (ie: sports fan, or missus is from the UK and loves UKTV - as in my case) then its a complete waste of money. I had it before when digital first came in. Ended up cancelling it because I wasn't around enough to justify the $89 a month i was spending to have TV. I would rather spend $89 a month on a lot of different things... it is an absolute rip off. But still looking at getting it in the new house, with a dedicated room for watching TV, and a few months of EPL left... I'm sure i can get my money's worth :P
