At around 7pm tonight my whole estate got no electricity .rang synergy and they have claim it will be fix by 930pm.it's almost 11 now and I am drinking semi cold beer from the fridge.....any tips to keep all the delicious food and meat in the fridge ??????

Tip 1, get the esky out, head to the servo, and hope they have had a delivery of ice since yesterday

I tried the servo nearby... All the ice are gone(I feel like I am camping in my house pitch black thinking of all the grocery we did yesterday all going to waste ......

its hard to prove, but I know if its equipment failure on their part, ie their fault, then you can make a claim with them to replace the food if it goes off because of it.

yeh if u write them a letter saying that all your food will have to be thrown out as a result of the power being off they will send you a cheque of around $215 from memory as compensation!

Rang them again to check and they say it's a power pole that is damaged and dropped onto the road that's causing it. Will I still be able to make a claim then?

your home contents will be able to cover any thawed food from your freezer up to about $500 i think if its a claim from loss of power provided you have proof.

Also to keep everything semi frozen/cold = wrap them up in Blankets...

you can only make a claim if the power is not restored for over 24 hours. just stop opening the fridge, common sense will prevail.
