i wouldn't call it surviving, he had severe burns to most of his body and from memory spent a couple of years in hospital

Im actually pretty sure he didn't, I thought this was the one where he came out fairly unscaved (considering the accident)
Broken wrist etc. But didnt get too badly burnt, despite what the accident looked like.
Either way, its not something you would want to go through.

I cant view Youtube at work so I'm guessing its Tetsuya Ota's big one..

All the details are on wikipedia but he was badly burnt in the accident. I dont know if the video posted in the full length one but there is video of him finally emerging from the car and being ignored and then finally bundled in to a van.
