un-welding aluminium possible?
got some fittings i need unwelded from old rails if possible (-6 AN type).
is this a quick easy job or better to buy new ones? I want to re-use them. |

I don't know weather it is possible but considering the damage a fuel leak can cause if catches alight do you really want to take the chance. Remember it is under pretty high pressure.
A mates VL popped the welds the other day on his bling looking aluminum surge tank. The amount of fuel that was all round the boot and how far it was sreying was just downright scary. Wouldn't be happy if that was in the engine bay.

Don't waste your time. If you don't stuff them cutting them off, they're unlikely to be usable after you weld them a second time due to warping/shrinkage. I'd only do it if you really have to.

yeh just got some new ones for $4.80 ea. (go gear).

itold u they were only 5 bux each.... but yeah wouldnt risk it on unwelded them...
