might be a stupid question but have you checked all the fuses to make sure nothing is blown ??? sounds weird that it has just stopped like that never heard of any gear just stopping ...

What Pioneer gear are you refering to? Amp or headunit?

impressya06 07-05-2009 10:43 AM

referring to the deck itself. and na all fuses are fine. checked all that. its literally dead. no lights nothing. i was thinking maybe pull it out and reconnect it but i dunno how to do that. pioneer want it returned, but i cant take it out of my car :p and im not paying to get it done. obviously this has happened to noone else :(

My old pioneer deck went in and out like a teenage boy and his first girlfriend. No issues at all.

Pull the deck out, its a 10 minute job and that includes 9 mins of jerking off.

Unscrew gear knob.
Pop out the surround.
Undo screws for facia.
Undo screws for CD player.
Unplug cables from the back.

Did you have it installed or was it in the car when you got it?
Any idea who installed it?
Could be a dodgy connection on it perhaps...

Tried pressing the reset button behind the decks front face???

I have a Pioneer DVD head unit that defaults to 'dark mode' (no face or screen illumination) when it's power is disconnected.

worth a try

impressya06 07-05-2009 11:30 AM

i lookd for a reset button but cant seem to see one.

and as for taking it out myself, yeh rather not.

i know who installed it but im not in contact with them anymore, but they would have done it properly coz theyve done it a million times.

ill be upgrading everything after tax time anyway. yayyy. loud good sound. (well, anysound is better than silence!)

Take the deck out and try and connect it directly to the battery, if it works then you wired it up wrong.. if it doesn't then either the fuse or faulty unit

impressya06 08-05-2009 08:43 AM

i found someone on another forum with the same unit and they had a similar problem. so im going with faulty unit. decks coming out this weekend so will find some answers!
