Default Mikes Mugen CRX

from the non-wrx nature... but im sure some of you will appreciate it.

i was going to turn a spare CRX shell I have at home into a race car... but it would take me about 2yrs before it drove like with my current supercharged CRX project.. this way its a tight deadline of about august.

I got talking to a friend and we decided to go halves in this Mugen built CRX race car. Its been brought from Japan in 89 where it raced since 84 as one of the Mugen cars, and then it raced here in the Sports car under 1.6L class or something of that kind. Its fully Cams log booked and approved so thats a massive bonus.

We have received words of encouragement from the original owner of this car here in Perth, and from a few other drivers who have actually raced against this car in the past years. It owned the track record for under 1.6L for a number of years in the old class and then in the mid 90s again for sports car class under 1.6L - so its got some decent racing history behind it.

Its previously run a ZC (1.6L DOHC) motor, but i'll fit it with a B16 Vtec motor, Civic TypeR cams, LSD gbox and nice big brakes and plan to take it out for some fun runs at some of the events and track days.

This is the car in 05 at Barbagallo (last race its made was in 8/06)

this is it now

old and tired motor which will be rebuilt for reinstall in a few years

and the new motor JDM B16A

Mike

Sweet! No need for Maccas trays under the back wheels in this one
I like the change in color too.
