As some of you are aware, the success of the Dutton Rally has led to WA’s inclusion for 2006. With a very high level of interest at this early stage, this event is set to be very exciting and whole lot of fun.

The event is set to run for the entire weekend of February 24-26 and covers a huge variety of events with some of the main venues including AHG Driving Centre, Barbagallo Raceway and Kwinana Motorplex, with more to be added.

The coverage of this event is fairly major, with both TV and radio stations wanting a slice of the action. I would suggest that this year more than any, the Dutton rally will be extensively covered since it is its first year in WA. So if you have a business that needs some intense 3 day exposure, this might be a good place to start.

The Team for 2006 WA Dutton:

NAME: Team Single Pegger

CAR:
1979 VB Holden Commodore. Modifications include chopped springs, pursuit rims, Victoria Bitter dash mat, fluffy dice, and HOLDEN RACING sticker on windscreen. A second "arc it or park it" sticker is to be added. A WORKED 202 engine resides under the bonnet, and modifications include a 2nd hand air filter, and I cut the muffler off to make it louder. I've also fitted fluoro spark plug leads, cos they look tops. We have HEAPS of spare parts, from the 3 Commodores parked on bricks out the front of my rented house in Kwinana.

Previous Sponsors of Team Single Pegger have been Bonds clothing, Cannington Greyhounds, Bonza Double Plugged Thong Company, Victoria Bitter, Mrs Macs and Barry's Retread Tyres.

PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE:
Doing single peggers at Carousel on a Wednesday night in front of a bunch of 15 year old single mums, and dragging me mate Dazza in his XD Falcon, from the lights on Albany Hwy, near the greyhounds (after we went in and lost $500, I got pissed off and bashed me wife Shazza after that).

I've also driven for another team (me mate Wazza let me do a burnout in his VL when we were pissed one day).

We are the only WA based team that has done a burnout in as many places as possible, and run from the cops for more than 10 minutes afterwards.

We have also done burnouts out the front of Barbagallo Raceway before the V8 Supercars, for the last 5 years running.

We are hoping to capitalize on our home ground advantage and improve on these results in the Perth event, with possibly a popped tyre, or maybe even a reverse burnout, and a few nuts.

All we ask from our sponsors, is a bit of assistance. We will need 6 packs of VB, a pile of meat pies, fresh thongs, and a pile of retreads. We will also need a crowd of people, wearing beanies, thongs, wife beaters and flannoes, as our cheer squad. Minimum requirements to be part of our team, will be a pack of Winnie blues up the sleeve. Winnie Reds are also allowed. 6 people will be chosen to sit in the back of the car, during the event. These people will need to make lots of noise, and hold tinnies and stubbies in their hands whilst waving their arms out the window. King Browns of Emu Export are optional.

We will put stickers on our car for each sponsor IE every time someone gives us a 6 pack of VB, or a pie, we'll throw a new sticker on the car. These may include (but are not limited to):

They will be strategically positioned to gain the most exposure, and cover all the rust holes.
