Anyone been messed around when buying sumething on ebay? just recently i have been phucked around on there with a reasonable amount of money and just thort sum ppl could share there stories too. Ive read all the stuff about filing claims and stuff. After that initial ten day period where u wait for a reply, does ebay acutally chase up the guy in anyway? or do you just go straight to that reinversment program? Anyone got sum stories or experiences they have had on ebay?

Pretty shitty bout this, first time i used it and i get ripped

I got screwed over in october (18th), $272 worth. Had to wait 20 days to file a dispute i think... or was it 30... i'm not sure. In any case i'm still waiting to hear from them to see my proof of payment.

Whole process takes about 60 days to get your money back, and there is also a $25 processing fee.

Good luck with it!

yeah this guy had good feeback, so could tell just from that, but got one bad comment after i had already paid him from someone else, this item was 500 bucks. kept egtting emails saying its on its way its on its way. I paid him on the 20th of october and ive seen nothing, he has since deregistered from ebay.

Yeah i know about the 25 dollar processing fee, reads all that stuff, just curiosu to know wot ebay acutally does to chase it up if they even do anything at all, kept my proof of purchase, so will be/should be able to get the full 400 back or 375 after the fee,

I have purchased just over 40 items from ebay, 1 of the items was $5000US and 2 others were $1400 US, I never had a problem with Ebay until recently where I purchased some RAM for my Mac Mini. The Ram got delivered. It was meant to be 1gb Low Density RAM and turned out to be 512mb High Density. After 3 months of no replies to me emails. I threatened the guy I was going to get ebay involved. The next day he sent me a tracking number and I received the 1GB Chip.

I've made over 50 purchases and about 10 sales on ebay, perfect record so far. As said above, the whole system rides on the back of feedback ratings, but there is one more factor to consider - not just good feedback of 100% or close to it, but also that the seller has a lot of feedback; not just say, 10 sales or so.

Scammers have been known to make a few cheap sales/purchases to obtain a good feedback rating, usually at least 10 so as to get the 1st star (yellow) to look less obvious, then go for the big one and not deliver the goods once funds have been deposited.

Also, read feedback comments, they can be a wealth of info and paint you a general picture of the seller.

My self and my other half buy and sell on ebay heaps absolutly hundreds of deals and had not any problems at all.. Usually problems are with Australia post.

but u do have to do your research of who ur buying from and where they are located.

U can actually get there details as in phone number and address from ebay
and the police do class it as stealing. if u wanted to take it that way.
