Im currently renovating a house. At the front I have two mature Canary Island Date Palms.

I want to remove one of them.

Im aware there's demand for mature palms, but unsure who buys these things?

Anyone have genuine recommendations?

Otherwise i'll just get it lopped and ground.

+1 Put a call into rob Bodenstaff or Shane and then lop it.

The problem is that they have to "prepare the tree for transplant". i.e. cut around the base and treat the roots and let it settle. usually takes about 3 months. Much easier just to get rid of it.

Rather than burning it.....Tie a rope behind your old mans cayenne and pull it over so it lays across the road. Say it blew over in the storm. Council will be there within a couple of hours to take it away for nothing.....

Problem with palms is that tree loppers dont like putting them through their grinders because they go all fluffy and block them up. Hence they are expensive to get rid of.

If you want the name of a cheap tree lopper let me know. He will write the invoice out to suit any property if you know what I mean.

Thanks brendon, i spoke with Arbor centre, they have a 'waiting list' for potential tree's on projects. Reading between the lines, they'll give you 1200 for your palm and charge near on 10k to the final party i.e. its a 35 year old palm at 12m's.

Pm the tree lopper mate.
