Gold Simmons rims - the main reason I liked the old BMWs.

It's no real suprise is it? Consider the last time they had a new design, and look at the trend with regards to modifying cars.

A big shame
I saved for 6 months to put gold v5's on my rx7 to cater for the series 2's horrific stud pattern.

It's true they havent released anything for ages and the latest weird spokey design didnt do it for many what but classic wheels none the less

I'd say as the market of simmons lovers gets older, their sales have dropped heavily. Just read the stories posted in this thread, all old cars when you were all younger.

Let's face it, they are an old school wheel designer/manufacturer mainly suited to old school rides, and as the modifying scene has dramatically changed over the last 10 years, it would have impacted on their sales.

Most of the young performance car owners these days have probably never heard of them or if they have, don't like the designs.

Evolution I guess. Either that or Tony just wanted to retire and enjoy not having to run a business.

Will these guys be next?? http://www.dragway.com.au/splash.asp - I remember when I was in high school, all I wanted was an HQ with a supercharged 350, turbo 400 gbox, 9in diff and a set of dragway's wrapped in BF Goodrich Radial T/A's!!!
Those were the days!

I had a set of Dragway indi tri-spokes on my 95 VK Commie.

Everyone loved those wheels - best part was they cost me a carton of beer back in 1991!

Same wheels - differnt car http://shopholden.com/ebay-cars/mo.p...n=330331020207

LOL exact same car I wanted at one stage during my teenage years... HQ coupe, 350 Chev, big blower, painted canary yellow with Centreline wheels.

Instead I ended up with a Series 2 RX7 and then subsequently, a WRX

And that's a fair call too. That and the fact it was essentially a small company that worked with an existing market without looking to expand the range or run with the market, the writing has been on the wall for a while.
