I Broke This
 

Guess this rod from the Cummins motor in the 550 tonne Hitachi excavator thought it was time to have a vacation.

I have the gudgeon pin as a souvenir. Bigger than my fist and weighs 1-2Kg.

No. Didn't come out but the hole was big enough to pull it out with a little wriggling. I didn't retrieve it. It was still to frigging hot for me to touch. Gudgeon pin was on the engine room floor.

Didn't break it. Picked it up and put it on the truck. 80 something odd tonne according to the truck scales.
