I thought the space elevator theory was interesting...with carbon nano-tubes and the like...it certainly will make space travel cheap if it does happen...trips to the moon will be quite easy...apparently just of the south west coast is one of the 3 possible locations that would actually work...

i just finished watching the discovery channel doco of the nasa missions from the moon landings to hubble etc etc...

i think the did land there but perhaps not exacty when they announced they did in 1969.

i still reckon astronauts are loco...sitting atop what is in ecence a big mother fucker firework its no wonder a few of them blew up. i remember in one of the interviews the astronauts said they wanted at least 2/3 successful launching of the rocket before they would fly it...crazy stuff.

Exclamation

The Moon is made of cheese!!!
I like cheese.

Rare footage here:
http://www.videosift.com/video/Walla...-Grand-Day-Out

Wallace and Grommit proved it!!

The space race was all about mining the moon for tasty cheese.
The Yanks and the russians both wanted to fuck over the Dutch and Swiss in the midst of their great Gouda and Ementaller cheese tussle during the seventies.

Nigel Powers kicked the space race off when he said:
Quote:
There's only two things I hate in this world. People who are intolerant of other people's cultures and the Dutch!
All these photos and vision you see of the moon landings, etc were all filmed under great secrecy by Stanley Kubrick of 2001 fame, in a backlot studio in London.
President Nixon personally initiated the project to beat the Russians.
He wanted to show them Ruskies how barren and bleak the moon actually was, and not worth pursuing so the yanks could secretely mine the moon for cheese!

We have now come full circle with global warming and various flu pandemics sweeping the globe. NASA sources believe all the cows on the planet will contract a very deadly virus in the near future that will wipe out the global herd. Milk production will cease overnight, completely destroying the Swiss and Dutch economies.
Cheese, chocolate and double whipped cream futures will skyrocket overnight making NASA very very rich.

This in turn will accelerate man exploring other habitable planets, so when the time comes and global warming melts us all to smelly goo, mankind can bugger off and leave the earth behind!!

Jeez I'm going to miss my Chocolate tho!!!

I have to say i'm a skeptic. Although there would have been alot of people involved to hide it. which is also the reason JFK was shot. He was gunna blab! But if man did land on the moon, why the hell are we only plannin to go back in 2019 (pretty sure thats the date)
IMO it was just to make sure the USSR didnt beat the yanks there as they had the first man in space. and dog from memory
