Default 30-35k to spend on my new car!

Any suggestions? (I've just finished writing this post and realised that most of you guys might not really care..... but oh well, i'm still excited )

The boss has given me a fairly decent budget and said he doesn't care what car I buy, as long as we get it sign written with the company logo! And from what it seems, depending on the car, I may even be able to stretch the budget a bit. I've got around $30-$35K to spend. Maybe more....

So now i'm in the market for a new car! Yippie!

I'm an Air-conditioning consultant. I spend half my time in the office and the other half visiting clients and parking up in their driveways. I've only got a small briefcase to carry and i want some room in the boot to fit a small fold up ladder (i'd think most any car can manage this). As much as i'd love to go spend 35K on an older full blown evo or STI wrx, I dont really want anything to "boy-racer" or over the top. I'm allowed a turbo or even a V8. But i'm gonna try and keep my self in check. I dont want my clients to think i'm a hoon or wanker salesman if you know what i mean.

I went down to Subaru yesterday. I drove a brand new Liberty 2.5lt. They have a special on (i think Tasha my sales lady, said 37K brand new drive away!), and brand new I can get the works, full leather, sunroof, auto (tiptronic) they also come with climate and electric seats, the works! Liberty's are a very nice car! Luxury and a very nice drive! They only thing it was missing.............. a turbo!

So I drove a brand new/demo WRX sedan in rally blue! Very nice! not as lux as the liberty. Still has climate control and of course a proper manual gear box! but no leather...... no sun roof......... and as fun as it was (the 09 model with the proper 190kw!) it just seems tame without the exhaust...... but i haven't ruled her out just yet

So onto an older Liberty GT! again a very nice car! But Subaru over on leach hwy have totally sold out of secondhand Liberty GT's! Well gutted! I'm sure I can pick up an 05/06 GT in my price range. But I need to drive one!

The sales guy said he could get in an STI liberty 2005 with 35,000km's for around $43,000. They didnt have one there so I drove the 2006 Liberty GT STI wagon! First time i've driven an STI, so I was well excited! but to tell the truth I was kinda disappointed I thought the STI would blow my mind. But it just didn't seem that much quicker than the standard WRX. It was the sports auto, and the sales guy said you got to try a manual......

Any comments? any suggestions?

Liberty 3.0RB wagon, 6 speed manual.

If you find one a couple of years old and bargain hard, should come within budget.

There is next to no performance difference between the stock GT Liberty's and the Tuned By STi variants... hence your apparent dissappointment...

I'd still be going an 06 GT if you can find one... Manuals are rare as though!
